One of the wonderful benefits of being an artist is the unique circle of friends that you meet as you grow and develop in the cultural world of fine art. Through relationships with some of my clients, it has been my privelege to have come to know the author Heather Simonsen. Coming from a background of journalism and news reporting, Heather has a developed her writing talent into a career as a novelist. Her sensitive command of the English language allows her to turn words into stories that make you feel as though you are sitting in the room with the characters, sharing meals at the table with them and sharing their emotions throughout the entire book. At left is a copy of the cover of Heather's second novel, "Sugarhouse Hill". I was honored to be asked by Heather to illustrate the cover of this book. "Sugarhouse Hill" is published by SPRING CREEK BOOKS and is in stores now as well as on Barnes & Noble and Amazon.com websites. Our working relationship began when Heather asked if I would illustrate the cover for her first book, "Horsehoe Bay" (shown at left below). Since that project it has been wonderful to be along for the ride as her writing career begins to blossom and help in my small way to present her work to the world.
